Do you have have old family videos, slides, or negatives you'd like to preserve in a digital format? The library will be offering a VHS to DVD (or USB drive) conversion service and a slide/film digitization service from February 17 - 28.
Slides/Film/Negatives Digitization
The library is offering a Kodak Scanza Digital Film and Slide Scanner for in-library use until March 3. Bring in your old slides and our staff will show you how to use the scanner (it's super easy). The Kodak Scanza can be reserved for up to 2 hours at a time, but walk-ins are welcome depending the scanner's availability. Bring your own SD card or flashdrive to store your photos on if you have one. Flashdrives may be purchased from the library for $2.50.
VHS to Digital Conversion Service
Call the library at 920-361-5420 to get on the list for this service. For $3 per tape, the Berlin Public Library will convert your home videos to a DVD or to a digital file that can be stored on a flashdrive. Copyrighted materials and recorded TV will not be processed. Pre-registration is required. Each registrant may bring up to 4 VHS tapes and may drop them off beginning the week of February 10. Payment will be collected upon pick up of tapes and digital media.
